90 Day Fiancé stars Matt Jlassi and Amani Jlassi revealed how their young children reacted to their controversial throuple relationship with their girlfriend, Any Aguirre.

“Kids, they don’t understand necessarily labels, but they understand love,” Amani told E! News in a joint interview with her husband. “They see love and what they see in Any is someone that cares about their mom and dad.”

Matt and Amani are parents of a 4-year-old and 7-year-old daughter. Any, who is from Tijuana, Mexico, also has a daughter “close in age” to their kids, so everyone shares the “same family values,” according to Amani.

“The great thing about this throuple being with Any is that she’s also a mom,” she noted. “Our priorities align and that’s what makes us work.”

The 90 Day Fiancé star said it was “actually easier to parent having a third,” adding, “We get so much help from her versus just two people.”

The pair’s controversial relationship with Any was introduced during the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé, which premiered on TLC on February 16. Matt and Amani, who identifies as bisexual, had been married for 10 years and met Any after spending time at night club club in Mexico.

“We want to bring her to live with us in the U.S., but obviously we have one tiny bit of an issue and that is we are legally married,” the mom of two shared in a confessional during the premiere. “Our only option is to get legally divorced so that one of us can apply for the K-1 visa and bring her to the U.S.”

The idea of legally separating “on paper” to bring Any over on a K-1 visa shocked their friends and they got criticism for “tying” themselves to someone they “barely know.”

Amani reflected on the major change in her interview with E! News and admitted it would be a “sacrifice” to divorce her husband in order to bring Any to the United States.

“If you asked us a year ago would you divorce for somebody, I would be like, ‘You’re out of your mind!'” Amani told the outlet. “But throughout the relationship, the more and more we obviously fell in love with Any, the more it just became like that’s the one thing that you have to do — the sacrifice.”

However, it’s seemingly been worth all the effort, as the couple believes the dynamic has strengthened their marriage.

“It’s always just someone to love, reminding you to love in general,” Matt explained. “If any one of us is ever mad at each other, we also see the other partners loving on each other.”

The father of two said they “fight less” as they usually are brought “right back into that environment” of love.

“One person is always a mediator that brings all of us back together, so arguments work better when you’re in a throuple,” Amani explained, adding how the trio will “always address the issue” at hand so they’ll know “how to handle it moving forward.”

“It’s a lot of communication that we do, a lot of openness,” she concluded.
