90 Day Fiancé‘s Angela Deem slammed trolls who mocked her granddaughter‘s appearance after the reality star posted a video of the 9-year-old lip-synching to a popular song.

Angela, 59, shared the sweet post to TikTok on Wednesday, April 23, showing Ariah Kaye with microphone in hand belting out Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars‘ “Die With a Smile.” She split the screen to show her beaming reaction, calling it a “duet.” Angela asked fans to “drop a heart if you think she’s my twinzy.”

The reactions were overwhelmingly positive, so Angela also shared the video of Ariah to her Instagram. However, the little girl was met with body shaming. One person wrote in the comments, “You all need to eat healthier.”

Angela quickly hit back at the trolls later on April 23, sharing the heartbreaking reason behind Ariah’s appearance.

“I just wanna bring something to y’alls attention. I want to thank the people here who don’t even like me on TikTok … They have a little bit of compassion,” Angela began in an Instagram video.

“So, you see the TikTok of my granddaughter, I thought she did great. All of y’all thought she did great and people that don’t kept it to themselves. She’s only 9 years old, OK?” the TLC star continued.

“To the Instagrammers who come on my page to cut me down, I can take that. When you come after my granddaughter and talk about her belly, you should be ashamed of yourselves,” Angela explained.

“Just a little info for you, God bless her because she had a kidney disease like her mom. And what kind of person goes around cutting down kids anyway?” Angela asked. “Do better. Do better. That kid hasn’t done nothing to you, and I haven’t either, but I can take it. She is a child.”

Angela disabled the comments on her post calling out the haters, but after her revelation about Ariah’s medical condition, fans shared messages of support on the video post of her singing.

One person wrote, “At the end of the day it’s a child that just wants to be a kid like we all did. If you can’t say anything good just don’t say anything, no need to hurt her feelings,” to which Angela replied with red heart and applause emojis.

A second fan commented, “If you wanna say negative things to Angela, she can take it, but don’t say negative things about her grandchildren. It’s crossing the line when you speak on someone’s child or grandchild.”

Ariah is one of Angela’s daughter Scottie Deem‘s three children.

Angela became famous through the 90 Day Fiancé franchise thanks to her relationship with Michael Ilesanmi. The Nigeria native is 22 years her junior, and fans watched over the years as Angela traveled to Africa to visit him. The duo married in 2020, and Michael’s visa to the U.S. was finally approved two years later.

Their drama got heated after Michael moved to the United States in December 2023. Two months later, Angela reported her husband missing from her Georgia home. She later learned that Michael claimed he was “in fear of his life” and didn’t want Angela to know his whereabouts.

In Touch confirmed Angela filed for annulment from Michael on June 20, 2024. She stated in her paperwork that the he “fraudulently induced” her into marriage “for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”

Michael started a GoFundMe fundraiser for his legal fees and was able to respond to Angela’s annulment filing on August 21, 2024, denying her fraud claims. He accused his ex of “cruel treatment” and “physical and mental abuse” during their marriage, stating it was one of the reasons for their divorce.

Their case is currently ongoing.
