Josiah Duggar and Wife Lauren Reveal How They Found Out She Was Expecting Baby No. 2
A welcome surprise! Josiah Duggar and his wife, Lauren Duggar (née Swanson), were overjoyed to discover that she was expecting again, three months after opening up about her miscarriage. The Counting On couple has since posted a new update, revealing how they found out she was pregnant with baby No. 2 — and it looks like Josiah had totally guessed it!
“Recently, we walked through losing a little one through miscarriage, but we’re excited to have another little one on the way now,” he began. “We’re just extremely grateful for this baby and just going through a lot really shows us how good God is and that miracles do happen,” she added.
Josiah, 22, said they found out she was pregnant at around 4:00 a.m. one day. “I went to the store and got a test, because I thought for sure she was probably expecting and sure enough she was,” the dad-to-be shared in the video posted to the Duggar family blog. Lauren, 20, said, “We we’re both overjoyed and just crying because we’re just so thankful for another sweet blessing.”
The TLC star said he will get to choose the moniker if they have a bouncing baby boy, and if they have a little girl, then Lauren will get the honors. “I think it’s probably going to be a girl, but I get to pick a boy name,” he said, while his wife sweetly added, “I really don’t know. I just want a healthy baby, so I’ll just say a boy!” Josiah said he wants their child to grow up to be just like Lauren, so he or she can have her looks and spunk. He also hopes their bundle of joy has his sense of humor.
Lauren and Josiah tied the knot in June 2018 and they can’t wait to embark on this new chapter of life together. In their pregnancy announcement on Instagram, they also shared a special tribute for baby No. 1 by having a white balloon in the background of their outdoor photo shoot. The couple even revealed they would have named their firstborn Asa. Josiah and Lauren didn’t share her due date yet, but fans are speculating he or she will arrive at the end of 2019!
