It’s that time of year again. Every April 1, we celebrate April Fools’ Day. It’s the one day of the year people actually fact check what they see on social media. Why? Because celebrities really like to play pranks in honor of the holiday. Some of the jokes celebs tried this year are legitimately pretty funny. Others are kinda lame, and one seems to get backlash every year but no one ever learns from it — the infamous fake pregnancy prank. Did anyone try that one this time around? Tom Brady joined Twitter on April Fools’ Day. But no, that’s not the joke. The football player’s first tweet noted that he’s retiring — but he quickly made it clear that he was just joking. “Was this a bad joke?” he tweeted later in the day.

As an early April Fools’ Day joke, Jennifer Garner shared a video to Twitter announcing that she’d written a book. And a lot of people believed it. So much so that Jen had to add to the post later in the day, “Update: Thank you for being so happy for me. Your sweetness makes me feel 🙈😬 🔥 for playing a joke. But this is an April Fools’. ♥️♥️♥️” Oops!

Lily Collins Is Pregnant?

Actress Lily Collins shared a photo of herself with a huge pregnancy belly on April Fools’ Day, but it was very obvious she was just kidding. Where would she have even hidden that all this time?!

Bekah Martinez’s Baby Scheme

Bekah Martinez also shared a photo to Instagram as part of an April Fools’ Day joke, but this one actually featured a baby in it — her baby. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Ruthie’s gained a bit of weight since her birth and has been getting bloated from late-night feeds and milk cravings,” she wrote in the caption of the photo, which featured her daughter holding a fake “fit baby tea.” “Summer is right around the corner so you know it’s important that she slims up for those beach days ahead!” she continued what was meant to be a silly post, but not everyone in the comments got the joke. Eek.

Brandi Glanville’s Prank Backfired

Brandi Glanville shared — then quickly deleted — a fake pregnancy announcement post with the caption, “5 weeks now third time’s a charm … and y’all thought all of my eggs were scrambled.” The post disappeared after some fans in the comments said they didn’t find it too funny.

Real Housewife Removed

Luann de Lesseps got in on the fun too. She shared a photo of herself to Instagram on April 1 and wrote, “Big announcement: I love New York but it’s time for a change. I’M MOVING TO LA INDEFINITELY! ☀️ I hope the Beverly Hills ladies are ready!😏.” But it gets better — Bethenny Frankel commented on the post, “And I’m pregnant with Tom’s baby.” Ha!

Wells Adams’ Little Problem

Wells Adams from The Bachelorette shared an … interesting new endorsement on Instagram that had fans giggling in the comments. “Happy April Stools!” he wrote. “#PooPourri has your 💩 covered with their new Street Tacos Before-You-Go spray, for real. People were definitely not pleased with this one. On April 1, Justin Bieber posted a picture of a sonogram and seemed to be suggesting that his wife, Hailey Baldwin, was pregnant. We thought it was an April Fools’ Day prank, but he followed it up with pictures of her seemingly having her belly looked at by doctors. Before long, however, Justin posted a second sonogram that was just a picture of a puppy photoshopped over the ultrasound. “Wait omg is that a … APRIL FOOLS’,” he captioned the photo. Fans in the comments were pissed, to say the least.
